Before my cannabis Specialist visit

Salutations~
Take two of these and call me in the morning

Today I am FINALLY going to see Dr. Lazarus at the Cannaway Clinic here in Winnipeg.

I have been talking about doing this for a long time now.   But it has been a bit of a calculated process-  Speaking with the doctors at the MS clinic, my family doctor, my psychiatrist and reading clinical journals surrounding emerging treatment and research, I realized- This might be worth a shot.

I moved into a self scheduled dosing trial.  Took some time, recorded results from my current cannabis usage- Then discontinued use to give my endocannabinoid system some time to reset and then scaled my THC / CBD levels up carefully over the course of a week.  And then I did it all over again to confirm any findings.

FOR SCIENCE!   PT.1PT.2PT.3PT.4PT.5

This gave me a fair appreciation of how to best speak to a prescribing doctor, in regards to my health care plan.   Cannabis therapies are as varied as the individual and it behooves you to do a bit of leg work to find out what strains, THC levels / CBD balance best suits what it is you are trying to treat- Insomnia, Pain, Anxiety, Cancer Treatments etc.

If you are Canna-Curious about the possibility of trying alternative therapies, maybe to avoid heavy prescription side effects and costly medications? now is an excellent time to learn about the pro's and con's.

Only a doctor can prescribe medical cannabis.    Any of-age adult in Canada can buy cannabis legally now, so what specifically are you hoping to accomplish with this visit?  If its just to get cheaper cannabis- you might have a hard time convincing your family doc that 7 grams a day is what you need to fix your tennis elbow.   But if that's what you've been using to self medicate for the last 5 year- talk to your doctor! Or talk to one of the endless online resources for getting third party specialist care- Like I am today.

The Cannaway clinic was very appealing to me, because the 60$ referral fee that many clinics were charging to meet a specialist pre OCT 2018 seemed very sketchy.  I do have friends who pay that fee every 3-6 months for non-chronic ailments tho (they say it pays for itself in $$ savings)

Cannaway bills to the provincial health care system and I don't pay a dime for my 20 minute intake appointment today. * I <3 you Canada
