Jack Herer is one of the most iconic names in modern Cannabis history, as an activist, successful author, a pioneer in glass pipes, Documentary subject and even as a Two Time Presidential Candidate.  But more people probably recognize the namesake strain as a Dutch coffeeshop / High Times Cup mainstay.

Having won innumerable awards throughout the years . Jack Herer is one of the very few strains to be accepted into the medical healthcare systems in place in the Netherlands. This strain (generally ) features heavy yields, high resin production and a potent THC level.

From the words of blogger Matt Price on the website Medical Jane:

"Jack Herer contains a stench that truly makes it a spicy sativa. Give the buds a little squeeze and pull and Jack will surely release a tropical frost smell so strong it will have you wanting to give it a few good sniffs." -This, coupled with personal pitch from the budtender- helped me decide in the moment.  ( Was also listed at 18% in store, but only 15% on jar, 3rd time this has happened to me purchasing from Tokyo Smoke )

What would Old Jack think of Canaca selling cannabis with his name on it in 2019?

Opening Inspection: 4/10
Uh oh. Very loose, shaggy, small / medium rounded flowers. Darker green with paper thin, untrimmed leaves yellowing at the edges.  Some broken stem pieces, loose leaf matter and fallen pistils dot the bottom of the jar.  Everything is very light weight, brittle and anemic looking.

Aroma:2.5/10
Celery, Alfalfa, Wet Wood..
Yuck.  Get it away from me.  What happened to the tropical frost?!

Palate:4/10
Tastes herbal and bit harsh on the lungs. I don't get ANY identifying flavors from this, devoid of terpenes it has a "green" chlorophyll aftertaste, like it was dried in a microwave to lock in all of that delicious greenhouse aroma.

Experience5/10
I DO like this genetic balance of this sativa leaning hybrid. It is (for me ) a barely acceptable threshold of THC @ 15%, but it feels like is totally lacking in entourage effect, making it feel somehow... less potent.  Short lasting effects that are "servicable" and workman like. No style, but some substance at least...?

Medical Notes- Functional as a THC option...?

TLDR-3.75/10
From the second I opened the jar, I realized I had made a sad choice. Looks like weak tea, smelled downright bad and had no definitive flavor profile.  I don't try to factor in price, but if this was a normal product of ANY SORT, I might expect a refund. But it IS Cannabis in Canada, so you're stuck with whatever's in that jar, sorry.
