Salutations

If #hashtags and eggplant emojis comprise the bulk of your syntax...
If you are digitally sagacious, virtually trending or merely a memelord...

Cannabis companies want to harness your thumbs for the power of green- and you will never end up with dirt under your well manicured nails.

A quick scan of Indeed.com for Canadian Cannabis jobs, showed several openings for Social Media Managers.   Responsible for managing online platforms, you will be the Virtual Voice of the brand by creating, posting and curating the interface between the customer and the corporation.

Being the online face of a company comes with some unusual parameters for what constitutes a work day.   Creating consumer focused original content while conveying company ethos and style, while ALSO working within the tight standards of Canadian compliance- can be more than a full time job.

Duties ( doodies ) include creating blog posts ( boring ) engaging with users online ( wee!) and developing strategies for building and maintaining a strong digital relationship with consumers of all demographics- and you might be pulling some long hours to make all those plates spin.

Being a part of the larger sales and customer service mechanisms in the corporate cannabis world, means networking, meetings and spectacular communication skills both in-office and out.   You will largely be responsible for driving and monitoring traffic online- with heavy deadlines, quotas and monthly data debriefs keeping your on your toes.

If you love chatting, reposting, tweeting, upvoting, right-swiping and sharing all things cannabis-  Social Media Managers are needed all over Canada.    Qualifications include Marketing, Business Administration,  Creative Communication, Sales as well as a healthy appreciation for Cannabis.

Salary or commission based renumeration is not unheard of, depending on the specific job- but you can expect to be easily replaced if your initiative begins to wane.  (Mad Men has given me a pretty grim view of the corporate culture of sales and advertising )  I wish I could paint a more accurate picture of what kind of bread these thumb typers are taking home- but I bet its respectable.

Theres gold in them thar hills.
