New in the MB market this week- AURORA is shaking things up a bit, offering "top quality, affordable, medical grade cannabis." Being the #3 player at the Big Boy table- they are competing with market giants APHRIA and CANOPY.
Aurora established themselves as a Publicly Traded entity ( ACB ) and stocks have risen steadily ( 26% last month~ ) showing that they are financially savvy as well as product oriented. Boasting some of the most competitive prices nation-wide the Aurora brand is undercutting most overpriced commercial offerings.
In January of 2019, Aurora acquired organic brand Whistler Medical Marijuana Corp.for 175$M, bolstering their profits by owning an established brand, reliable selling the most expensive cannabis in the country. Catering to both the lower and higher income buyers is a tricky balance.
While the prices are not the absolute cheapest in the country, they offer a diverse range of genetics that are sure to appeal, with cultivators seeming to have a great respect for the end product. What really surprised me, was that they haven't lost focus on the medical community.

Having the ability to help guide future strain choices would be phenomenal from a patients perspective IMO- Hard to say how much input you'd really have- but regular communication with Aurora medical team seems to be a high priority from their perspective, and it doesn't just seem like pushing their recreational cast-offs onto their medical community.
I really enjoy that Aurora's website shows a list of available Strains, as well as a list of harvested and curing ( Ie; Coming soon ) AND growing currently, giving you a good idea of whether your current medication will having any disruptions to its availability, or to get you excited for what's coming up.
Tomorrow I am finally meeting with my Dr. to discuss perhaps getting a prescription to treat my MS symptoms. ( SO EXCITED!) I will update this after I get a chance to inquire about their flat rate pricing- You can only choose TWO Licensed Producers- Who would you pick?
