"Who will help me thresh this wheat?" -  Chicken Little

We all want to eat the bread, but who wants to sow the field?  The Trimmigrants and Scissor Drifters have made the trips out west for the outdoor California harvests since the 60's.   Often paid in cash by the pound that they manicured during long shifts in illegal outdoor settings (with the added bonus of a few bags of super fresh trimmings), these jobs are now largely indoors and a lot less drum-circle-y.

With legal LP's needing a consistent flow of harvests, there is never really an "off" season for trimmers.   Largely done in teams, wearing sanitized scrubs, hairnets, and gloves, you'll be sitting or standing for most of your shift doing very repetitive work in a highly regulated medical environment. But paid well for your labor.

Attention to detail, manual dexterity, speed and organization will be your primary assets as a potential new hire.  Working with scissors, doing exacting, repetitive snipping can be a bit of a dull task, with its fair share of hand and back cramps.   Maintaining a good posture, while still keeping up a good pace can seem at odds with each other after a short period, but you get the hang of it quick.

The perks of this position; If you like to be hands on with plants- this is an excellent starting point.  Its hard to get your foot in the door, when it comes to production- and being a part of this team is a great way to make connections- and after working in an ACMPR compliance facility it will make new applications a breeze.  Getting used to the regulations might be a bit of a learning curve tho.

I have done a lot of trimming over the years helping with with people's harvests.  It's usually a sticky, cramped, hot and boring job- but I would never say no- its just really fun being a part of the process, seeing all of the various stages of a plants life cycle before it ends up in our jar.  ( and you'd usually get a big ball of black finger hash as a bonus if you saved your scissor scrapings well )

Trimming is a great full OR part time opportunity for people looking for an entry level cannabis position that didn't involve answering phones, or telling customers that there was still no weed in stock, for the 8th week in a row.  Can segue well into growing, or quality assurance positions with the right college credits on your resume.
