Review: Critical Super Silver Haze - Canna Farms
Critical Super Silver Haze- Canna Farms
THC / CBD: 16.8% / >1%
3.5Gm- 59.99$ - Tweed
Canna Farms is British Columbias first licensed producer of cannabis. They are proud to be 100% Canadian / Family owned and operated, and source all of their supplies and raw materials from local businesses. Sourcing their water straight from glacier fed run off, boasting zero pesticides AND
ORGANIC.
This is surprising to me, as it has not been advertised as such, which it surely should be. Canadian regulators have kiboshed the ability for point of sale marketing, but surely the bud tenders would have been able to provide me with a reason for the highest priced cannabis in the Manitoba market atm? It was lauded as "good- but not very high THC" None of the employees had any personal experience with it.
I have been wanting to test out their products for a while now, but at 60$ / 3.5G that works out to just over 17$ a gram before taxes and is out of my price range, every week except Christmas / NYE.
Time to treat oneself.
Genetics - Sativa / Indica 70-30 -Super Silver Haze X Critical Mass
( Skunk #1 / Haze / NL #5 ) X ( Afghani / Skunk #1 )
First Impressions-
Packaging- ZIP TOP BAGGIE? What the.... That's like buying a 50$ bottle of wine and having it come in a juice box. I was shocked. Buds were at least well sealed, if a bit flattened.
Aroma- Upon opening- There was a muted white wood spice- had to really inhale deep while incurring a deep sneeze from all of the dusty crystals that had fallen off in in transit. It was not aromatic. Smelled like my dads velvet lined jewelry box he would keep his 70's cologne soaked cuff-links in.
Visual inspection- Buds were between .1 and 1.4g with .3 of a gram of shake. Total weight was 3.50 on the dot. Coloration was white, with light green, lavender highlights and short firey pistils though out. Trichomes were absolutely dusted over the whole batch, rolled in its own keif as it was quite dry and beginning to lose the juicy heads and what I can assume- a lot of the terpene structure that this strain usually has.
Cure / Trim- Trim was top notch, zero sugar leaf, perfectly rounded little frosted grape nuts.
Buds were very dense, yet light- and tended to disintegrate while busting- certainly not grinder friendly as it breaks down into such a fine powder that it burns hot and quick in a bowl. Vaped great, most flavorful at low to mid temp range.
Flavor: spicy / peppery. It burnt cleanly and quickly- not easy to savor as it was gone so quick and $$$. Back notes of raisin, toasted nuts, white pine. Felt like this batch might be lacking for being a bit "old" in the packaging, not unpleasant by any means- but not distinct in its terpene profile for such rich parentage and price.
Experience: Upfront and vigorous, the 17% THC seems a bit low to be honest, effects were strong, quick and remarkably long lasting. Very cerebral and head-buzzy- the fan on my computer seemed to be louder than normal, the whites on the computer screen too bright. Not a relaxing high- but powerful in its sensory / tactile stimulation. Great for watching a trippy stoner movie.
TLDR:
WTF packaging, almost dusty dry, more potent than I expected- not much in the flavor / smell department. surprisingly organic! very well grown, great genetics- very cerebral and focused effects with a high ceiling and long lasting experience.
