LP Profile: DOJA
Salutations
Another new face at the table in recent weeks is DOJA. Once upon a time, a slang for cannabis- they've taken the name and turned it legit.
Grower focused, small batch craft cannabis, hand trimmed and organically managed, DOJA was formed in 2014 by the forward thinking entrepeneurial team that created the fantastic SAXX underwear line. But they've put some good people in charge of their grows and are striving for the quality that BC bud is known around the world for.
In the heart of Kelowna, they have a coffee shop set up on the waterfront at 274 Bernard st. where you can kick back and enjoy some local coffee selections and pick up some accessories as well. But don't expect to grab buds here, this is not a retail cannabis location- just coffee.
Initially Aquired in Jan 2019 by cannabis giant APHRIA, DOJA now sits alongside the Van der Pop and Tokyo Smoke brands complementing their existing portfolio with small batch BC Craft Growers.
As of Jan 2019 they have 3 products on the market, Elation, Utopia and Momentum but reviews are still hard to find. I'll be looking forward to providing my own feedback this week.
One thing I've noticed about DOJA is a measure of quality that bespeaks of the Okanagan Experience. Seriously crafty growers are tending all stages of this operation and you can tell there is a pride that goes into the finished product.
From whole curing entire plants, to a higher tier of manicure- Buds seem freshly aged, in a way that still leaves an enjoyable hand-feel when breaking buds apart, and a much greater delivery of the often lost cannabinoids and terpenes that make a plant truly expressive as a craft bud, rather than a commercial offering. I have yet to see bad buds coming out of BC in the legal market and I look forward to talking with the DOJA folks about a possible medical license partnership.
