Review: Critical Kush Round TWO
Salutations
Gifted a small sample of Critical Kush from an acquaintance over the weekend I am glad to present:
|
Critical Kush ( again )
( Provided for novelty- I review this for the purposes of redeeming a strain, please purchase from licensed retailers or medical supply ONLY. )
Critical kush is the result of a hybridization of a Critical Mass and Og Kush. Two indica dominant strains known for their ability to lay out even the most hardened of vets. Og Kush seems to nowadays's be in almost every well known west coast varietal, having been popularized in the 90s.
Critical mass in particular is known for growing extremely heavy flowers as the name implies. Density is something that is often looked for as a sign of a well fed flowering indica traits.
This also brings in the dangers of mold, and other moisture issues. They should be tended for carefully ensuring proper humidity levels through out the curing process especially.
OG Kush is represented by a unique lemon-pine scent with an earthen musk with exotic spice notes. Making those characteristics a coast to coast phenomenon and carrying a deep relaxing and stimulating effect.
It was impossible to tell from the Edison and Co. City Lights ( critical kush ) that it really had any of the above mentioned qualities beyond a final lingering musk that was mostly quashed by anemic vegetables.
Black Market Critical Kush- smallest buds were .6G and up to 2.5G Price per gram was 7$ compared to the 10$ previously reviewed.
Buds were very tight, but had a tan / purple hue on the inner bracts when buds were broken. Medium covering of ochre covered pistils denoting a late maturity harvest.
A heavy spice aroma even from a distance, busting them open intensified that incense spice quality that comes from the Afghan heritage in the critical mass.
Buds were subtly colorful and dusted inside and out with a heavy blanket of over sized brownish trichromes. Touch was not sticky, but not dry- the result of a prolonged cure with great care.
Vapor was THICC, smoked extremely rich, coating the sinus and palate eliciting some coughing.
Flavor was first peppery on the attack, then with a shift to toasted coriander, clove spice and lemon pickle sour. Like a walk thru an open market in Pakistan.
With buds so well manicured and cured, you'd imagine they could survive a long winter. And you'll be happy to curl up on the couch with the dog, read about some new cannabis tech and eat holiday leftovers happily for days. Deeply relaxing this would be best served up well into the evening and will have the punch to slice thru an already heavy day of cannabis use.
If you see this offered on shelves and it displays a heavy spice aroma, you know that you're heading towards a critical hit with this batch. Let your nose do the heavy lifting- It totally won't mind
