MOM is just a phone call away

Salutations

Today is the kind of day where I just can't get enough energy to do much of anything, but in this modern age of social connectivity, I am always just a click away from learning something new.
I typed in mail order marijuana + Winnipeg and holy crap- there are a LOT of them.  317 listings popped up on one page that connects people to local delivery services.

These dispensary type of operations are certainly on the border of illegal, if not fully breaking the law by serving medicated edibles as well as concentrated forms of cannabis, like shatter and hash.
From the Canadian federal justice website: Cannabis edible products and concentrates will be available approximately one year after the Oct 2018 legalization date.

One year is going to seem like a long time for those people who have been eagerly awaiting another viable method for consuming cannabis, other than smoking or vaping.   Although Canadians are allowed to make their own concentrates and edibles at home for personal consumption, the lack of fresh, home grown product, puts this out of the reach of most Manitobans.

It seems like the prevalence of these mail order marijuana shops is a fairly good indication of the online distribution models success. Each of these MOM's boasts a broad portfolio of cannabis products in stock ( over 130 types on one site ) and prices can be well below the retail average. Options for 28g range anywhere from 100$ and up, with free shipping on purchases of 200$, making these directly competitive with black market rates. Reviews are fairly extensive and it only takes one or two people people leaving 1 star to give you second thought before leaping on one of these deals.  This is also where I have seen reference to Compassionate Pricing for medical patients who qualify for financial aid based on their household income.

The Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations which took effect in August 2016 created a framework for medical patients to have affordable options to access their prescriptions.  This gave the ability for qualifying patients to start their own gardens at home; thus keeping their supply under their own directive. THE LAW

The medical community has been serviced in recent years by Licensed Producers (LP's) of cannabis. Federally approved growers who meet the standards to produce legal cannabis, ensuring a safe, reliable product in a shaky, half legal world.  This essentially creates a partnership between a patient and an LP of their choice to deliver their prescription without any middle men (other than the government of course ) Most LP's these days will carry a variety of products tailored to the individuals needs.  Canadians can also designate a grower on their behalf.  All of this begins with a visit to your health care practitioner to see if you qualify for a prescription of course.
Registration info

There will be a much more in depth analysis of the patient / LP relationship coming soon, as well as exploration into the specifics of these MOM's-  Is it really the amazing deal you think it is?
