Buds were miniature in scale, deep forest green with curly rosy-ochre pistils. Too tiny to properly detail, but they have a nice humidity where the bud clumps to itself after breaking apart like kinetic sand. Trichomes are extremely fine and well distributed.
Aroma: 8.75
Hops, Lime, Mango, Forest floor (Moss), Daisies / Geranium. Busting revealed an enormous sweet floral quality with a sour fuel backnote, clings to the fingers. Pungent within a six foot radius. Exhaled smoke has a very floral fragrance that surpised me.
Deeply aromatic, these tiny buds have a very hash-like quality that beckons you to smell the jar more and more- I highly suggest keeping your container handy while you partake, to double down on this sensory experience. I don't know if I'm just being biased about my own preferneces or not, but in my collection of recent purchases- this one is really pulling me back for more.
Taste: 8.5
Dusty lime, hash spice, apple, back into a fizzy lime soda then finishing on mentholated herbs. It has a wonderful palate coating quality, really resonating on all parts of my tongue and sinus. Has a familiar exoticness that kush lovers will recognize. It is a very flavorful bowl and tends to linger- Would pair nicely with a dark scottish ale or Madeira wine- very robust.
Experience: 9.0
This Cold Creek Kush from Vertical is flavorful and it is POTENT. Labeled at 22.89% for this batch packed in mid April- (It was actualy the highest THC% available at the time of purchase). It felt like the buds were no where near the top of what might be available from this release from Vertical, as they were all so tiny- but HOT DAMN- those little raisin sized buds were not fooling around.
It lends a warm bearhug kind of feeling I.M.O.- one where I am able to feel a little giddy, warm and comfortable while still making homework a treat to do. It has a fairly long active effect and could provide ready relief for 2-3 hrs for medical users in whole flower form with minimal body load or burn out for such a high THC%. Very dry mouth however- Where's my ale?
TLDR; 8.75/10
My package of Cold Creek Kush contained craisin sized bits of dark colored cannabis that didn't wow me at first glance. But then I let my nose do the walking and my mind wandered over to a fun little gathering- with familiar friends chatting and relaxing- it felt like what "Getting Off Work" feels like. Time to kick off the shoes and crack open some suds- its the weekend- Or at least... its the weekend somewhere, amiright?
