There are many Sensi's in today's Rec market. But are they all created equal?
Delta 9 has planted their Sensi Star with bold intentions, delivering a +20% THC flower that ranks up with the top of the current MB indica menus and a reasonable price point that bargain hunting Manitobans are sure to clamber to.
Opening inspection: 8/10
Buds are very round, trimmed tight but some sugar leaf remains. Extremely tight looking buds, but not as heavy as I expected. Quite dry- but the jar had next to zero dust or loose leaf. Coloration is forest green with high density of extremely short pistils. Trimchomes are coarse and semi loose- giving buds an odd dusty feel, like they've been rolled in their own kief.
When buds reach this level of density- there can be a propensity for contaminants if not cured very carefully. I cracked into a 1 gram bud and was greeted by an even desert storm of tan crystals reaching out from a needle fine stalk- 15X magnification and everything is crystal kosher.
Aroma: 6.5 /10
Freshly stacked firewood. Citronella. Coriander seed. Kush.
Its seems subdued. A little... last week? It feels like the terpenes were once alive and vigorous- but now just the lingering perfume of an exotic locale on a borrowed book... Leaves me wanting more.
Flavor: 6.5 /10
Again- a day late- a memory of what should have been. Still delightful, but less like the fresh hash brick smell from other Afghani crosses and similar Sensi Stars. Maybe less of a flavor champ but it smokes incredibly smooth, vapes evenly, with more spice flavors coming out around 150 degrees.
Experience: 8.5 /10
This potent offering had me venturing in lightly at first- it has a long lasting effect that comes on quickly without malice. It is a gentle giant if you will. Altho I have been on a CBD streak- this 20.87% THC didn't come with any heavy body load, no anxieties. Quite the opposite in fact. After a tough week of MS symptoms, used tactically- this Sensi Star had me feeling positive and got me moving in a surprising fashion.
TLDR: 7.75/10
If you are looking for an outgoing strain that will have you chatting weird gossip to your taxi driver this weekend, or a deeply personal introspective yoga kind of deal- This might be a good fit for either of those vibes. This batch could have ended up being a bit more "fresh" and "terpy" but final results say Delta 9 Sensi Star was a solid choice for this weekends adventures.
