Feb News: US tables bill to decriminalize
Salutations ~
Another day; another major publication asking the right questions.
WIRED is talking about some of the bigger questions facing lawmakers in the U.S. as over 30 states have moved to improve access to Cannabis for medical or recreational purposes. As senator Ron Wyden of Oregon has tabled Senate Bill 420- A motion to decriminalize cannabis at the federal level.
One day soon, I'm sure that our southern neighbor-oonies will be able to freely research, utilize, farm and celebrate cannabis in all of its forms, but in the meanwhile there are a lot of legitimate questions that could sorely use some answers.
Helping us find those answers: UC Berkeley's Cannabis Research Center - established this week to study the overarching impacts of cannabis cultivation on the environment, local communities as well as policy regulation and enforcement. It takes Data to move opinion-
There is a lot of work that needs to be done in order to connect the pieces of laws passed by these individual states to knit a framework for federal legalization. There are a growing number of politicians willing to step up- And what they need- Is the space to talk, some politicians who will listen and some funding for researchers to find us those answers.
