Blueberry Kush by SYNR.G had my attention at "blueberry" and sold me on the high THC / low retail price point of 9$/g.  As a retail extension of the CannTrust family ( One of three, actually: Liiv, Xscape AND SYNR.G)

From a 2018 CannTrust press release on their new brand Synr.G: "From a dinner party to a night out, or just connecting with friends, these expertly crafted strains are perfect for any social occasion and are targeted to consumers who look forward to breaks from their busy lives"

Will Blueberry Kush deliver on value? Or just another "budget" offering that has been mechanically separated, flash cured and microwaved, like some comparably priced products?  Lets find out!

Visual Inspection: 7
Semi closed structure with very round nodes jostling for space on the stem, some clustering up like a bunch of grapes, others wrapping upwards like a green pinecone. Buds are mostly small ( under .3g) with one larger specimen ( .8g).  Trichomes are long and mature, however not distributed evenly, with some smaller buds looking extremely frosty, others only moderately covered. 

It does seem like a higher than average amount of "bottom" buds ( or larf ) But to be honest- even the tiniest ones look good enough to make a pretty bowl, if not an Instagram worthy photo shoot.



Aroma: 8/10
Blueberry Pekoe tea is what comes to my mind immediately.  A combination of tannin-y black tea and dried blueberry drifting from a freshly steeped teabag.  Soft and warming with a tiny spice note on the back end from the kush lineage, but overall a fairly mild profile until you grind it up, which really brings the sweet, fresh blueberry to the forefront. Quite sweet, almost cute!

Palate: 8.5/10
A thicc body on this smoke, round and loud like Violet Beauregarde in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory- Seems to balloon out from the opening draw and fill my whole head with rich, jammy kush essence. The OG Kush backbone helps bring some "oomph" to the classically smooth Blueberry. Taste's just like it smells, which is something that doesn't happen often enough.

23% is right up at the top for highest THC% I have reviewed this year.  I didn't think too much about this after viewing the buds, as they didn't wow me with exotic colors or other fancy aesthetics. But this strain was certainly not lacking in the potency department!~

Like grandma's cooking, there is something familiar and comforting about this Blueberry Kush.  It comes on softly, lulling the body and tickling the mind with a tranquil, dreamy quality.  A nice "middle of the indica / sativa road" sort of vibe.  Equally mellow and stimulating, I could see myself losing a lot of time playing chess or binge watching Netflix over a long weekend with this strain.

Medical Notes: 
Mentally uplifting with little body load-  Burn outs seemed light and easy to get out of- good for stretching out my aching muscles. 

TLDR- 8.25/10
SYNR.G has delivered a high THC product at a price that should keep other Licensed Producers on their toes.  Altho lacking a little bit of jar appeal in this sample, it had a pleasant aroma, a great flavor and a wonderful potency that makes me excited for more of their line-up to arrive in the future. Price doesn't factor into my reviews, but this is a great value in today's market.
