COLOR cannabis is" A premium brand that is exclusively available to distributors and select retailers across Canada available Mid June 2019" and is produced in Weed MD's licensed facilities in Ontario.
“We worked with globally-renowned agency Sid Lee to launch Color – our first adult-use brand,” said Brett Moon, SVP Sales and Marketing, WeedMD. “The brand is rooted on a simple insight: The world is no-longer seen in black and white. Color Cannabis aims to inspire our consumers to live life and experience cannabis in their own unique and personal way. With its punchy, memorable and uniquely-spelled brand name - coupled with stand-out colour schemes - consumers will appreciate the product inside this forward-thinking brand.”
- I sometimes forget that color vs colour is a regional difference- Color here on my spell check
Coming in with a lower shelf tag than similar "premium" products, they are trying to make their mark- without telling users how to feel- and instead allowing their simple branding and attractive genetic portfolio to tempt consumers. I saw a couple of pics popping up on Reddit this week and was excited to grab the last two packages available in the city, having sold out in under 24 hrs.
Opening inspection- 8.5
The jar was NOT a pretty pastel at all! Just opaque black with a COLOR sticker, and it was too large to keep from shaking the buds around. But it did come in a matching box at least? Weight was 3.55g and had minimal shake / leaf- some loose trichome lost in the jar. Trim was extremely tight, buds have a crystallized feeling, not springy- but not dry either.
Chubby, bomb-shaped nuggets varying from .3g to 1.7g, with a moderate distribution of extremely short rusty orange pistils and fat amber colored trichomes. Not the whitest shark in the sea- but certainly a resin hefty specimen. The word Dank works well here.
Aroma-8.75
Grape cotton candy, lavender honey, allspice / clove, light citrus and pine. Quite sweet- I don't remember smelling this profile in a looooong time- cresting in popularity in the late 90's- it has a certain candy shop quality, nostalgic and girly.
Palate--8.5
Sweet grape bubblegum, lemongrass, sweet skunk and a round spice / herbal note that settles into the front of my sinus and gives me a sort of fizzy sensation at the back of my throat that really sharp sativa strains share, and that I have grown to love over time. Very full bodied smoke, but luxuriously smooth on the exhale.
Couldn't get a great vape off it right away, as the moisture is still right around 60% and even finely ground it couldn't get good air flow thru my Solo Two at first. But after leaving it busted in the grinder over night it brought out more grape / herb / clove notes at various temps. Quite nice
Experience-8.75
This is a fun genetic mix that feels like a well balanced cocktail- a lot of pain relief, some front brain motivation to keep working- but also my bed felt Sooooo good on a rough day and I rested up well. 21.46% is a respectable THC content and it is backed up by a really fun aroma, smokes / vapes very well and might be good fit for some longer creative sessions- Has a high ceiling and comes on quick- so for 11$ this is one of the best values I have seen here in Winnipeg.
Medical Notes
My wife is finding it to be marvelous for falling asleep, but I find myself daydreaming more than not. 21.46% is a respectable THC content and it is backed up by a really fun aroma, smokes / vapes very well and might be good fit for some longer creative sessions- Has a high ceiling and comes on quick- so for 11$ this is one of the best values I have seen here in Winnipeg.
TLDR: 8.75
White Shark is a vintage genetic strain that has been grown out to delicious modern standards by COLOR in their first offering. It really surprised me with the THC content- White shark doesn't tend to get this high too often. In fact- If you look at the Weed MD listing for White Shark, *( same genetics, same facilities ) it is listed as only 8.75%THC as of this printing. This is certainly cured / presented nicely and would be excellent party favors for Canada day this week- but take it slow- this Shark has teeth.
