I'll be honest with you, the recreational cannabis market is in a bit of a rut these days.  Over 1 year into legalization and the nascent industry I had such high hopes for has begun to flounder, with retailers drowning in low to mid-grade products that don't have much desirability to experienced smokers, myself included.

In an effort to curb my budget I opted to grab some single gram units, while not ideal for reviewing, it can give a pretty good indicator of what this strain can offer.  Sundial's "Lift" line features sativa dominant varietals with unique lemon / citrus terpene profiles at an entry-level price.

Sour Tangie and Clementine are two powerhouse terp factory strains that have won countless awards for their seductive, floral-citrus flavor and positive energy effect and personally, that has me a little excited to try this.

I have tempered my expectations however after reading more about their greenhouse production and profit chasing business model that doesn't seem to be working terribly well for them at the moment. A beleaguered SNDL stock has plummeted after releasing the third-quarter net loss of $97.5 Million "driven by the acquisition and the termination of a royalty obligation."

Visual Inspection: 7/10
First off- this packaging is a little different than I am used to seeing.  1 gram packaging has always been ostentatious and wasteful in its overkill size, but a lot of that blame falls on regulatory information that must be displayed on each package, in English and French in a certain size, leading to wastefully huge containers. This jar is 2.5" tall but is hiding a recessed storage area only 1" in-depth, so minimal room to shake and break your buds.  It still feels silly, but thumbs up, I guess.

Buds are rounded-conical in shape, with long rouge pistils and mid to light green coloration with tan trichomes building heavily off of the stem, but fairly absent from the outside- common for machine trimmed product- but overall- its seems fairly tight in delivery and really begins to shine when you start to break it up.

Aromatics:4/10

In the jar I get green oranges.  I mean to say- an unripe orange that still has that stemmy green bit of leaves that cost an extra 1$/lb at the organic fruit market.  You wait a week or so and then, BOOM! tasty orange.   Somehow... I don't think that waiting for this to ripen will make it any better.

Its a fairly mild profile, but what little bit of sparkly citrus is supposed to be there, is mostly lost in an off-gassed curing issue.  Disappointing

Bottom of the 1G jar
Palate:5/10
Soft and smooth on the draw with a nearly creamy hint of mandarin orange pith.  Not acidic, or sweet, or sharp or any of the high notes I associate with citrus flavours, more like a watered-down Orange Julius.

On the exhale it finds those subtle citrus notes to be lost ( again ) with a faint chlorophyll note that kept me from really appreciating the opening orangy-ness.  Vaping was unremarkable.

Experience:7/10
Citrus Punch has a quaint bit of levity, kept me smiling and upbeat, tapping my toes with a bit of extra energy in the afternoon.  I could see this as a wonderful strain to share before brunch with the girls, feeling motivated to paint your living room or lighting up on a trail while hiking in the forest.

Medical notes:
A good option for those dealing with fatigue. Positive mood booster.

TLDR 5.75/10
Citrus Punch is lacking in citrus AND punch. Smelled more grassy than orange and while it smoked smooth and fine, there wasn't much to highlight. However, I found the experience to be quite delightful and while I think most cannabis aficionados would pass this by, it is a perfect entry level option for people looking to start their weekend off on the right foot.
